Press Release: Nagaland Olympic Association Celebrates Ms. Kajiloni’s Selection for U.S. Government’s Global Sports Program

The Nagaland Olympic Association is thrilled to announce that Ms. H. Kajiloni Krichena, hailing from Nagaland, India, has been selected to participate in the prestigious Global Sports Mentoring Program (GSMP) offered by the United States Government. She is one of 17 women from diverse sports backgrounds representing various countries, including Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Cape Verde, Colombia, Czech Republic, France, Fiji, India, Indonesia, Kosovo, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Samoa, Uganda, and Uzbekistan.

Ms. Kajiloni’s nomination for this program was made possible by Mr. Abu Metha, Secretary General of the Nagaland Olympic Association and an alumnus of the U.S. State Department’s International Visitor Leadership Program.

The GSMP is a Sports Diplomacy initiative by the United States Government, in partnership with ESPN. It pairs emerging leaders from different nations with senior female executives from top U.S. organizations for a five-week mentorship program. The program’s primary objective is to empower these leaders to create positive change in their respective communities. It emphasizes various aspects, including team-building, social entrepreneurship, innovation, leadership, and action planning.

In the past, Ms. Kajiloni was nominated by the Indian Olympic Association for a Masters in Global Sports Management at Seoul National University, South Korea. She currently serves as a Sports Operations Officer in the Nagaland Olympic Association and has worked with several sports federations, contributing to the organization of World Championships, World Cups, and International Sports Events.

Ms. Kajiloni’s selection for the GSMP is a significant achievement for sports in Nagaland, and her ongoing contributions are expected to play a vital role in the state’s sports development. The Nagaland Olympic Association extends its heartfelt congratulations to Ms. Kajiloni and wishes her the best of success.
