Livingstone Foundation International College’s Red Ribbon Club Raises Mental Health Awareness with ‘Be Kind to Your Mind’ Program

The Red Ribbon Club at Livingstone Foundation International College conducted a Mental Health Awareness Program on October 19, 2013, with the theme “Be Kind to Your Mind.” The event was honored to have Mrs. Linoto Assumi, a Psychotherapist from Eden Medical Centre, as the guest of honor.

Mrs. Assumi emphasized the profound impact of the environment on mental health and posed a thought-provoking question: “Are you a virus or a cure?” She stressed the importance of seeking help at the right time and being a source of support in someone’s life, even without professional training.

The program was skillfully hosted by Mr. Kevin, a student in his 3rd semester pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree. It commenced with an invocation by Ms. Ingauringle from the History Department, followed by the presentation of the college anthem by the Evangelical Union of LFIC.

The Welcome Address was delivered by Ms. Sashirenla Mollier, the Academic Dean. Thejavor, a student in his 3rd semester studying for a Bachelor of Arts, presented a special song that resonated with the audience. In the Poster Making Competition, Ms. Tiaienla Amri (in her 5th semester, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts) and Mr. Ringthar Langthasa (in his 3rd semester, studying Bachelor of Commerce) secured the 1st and 2nd positions, respectively. Lemtsa Thuvuri (3rd-semester Bachelor of Arts) emerged as the winner of the Slogan Writing Competition.

The highlight of the program was a thought-provoking drama presented by the Red Ribbon Club, shedding light on the factors leading to slow, traumatic effects on our mental health and offering alternative ways to address such trauma. The program concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms. Dipika Agarwal, the Nodal Officer of the Red Ribbon Club at LFIC.
