The Hindu community in Dimapur is joining in the celebration of Durga Puja with enthusiasm and devotion. The festivities, which commenced on Saturday, have attracted a diverse gathering of devotees, both young and old, adorned in vibrant attire, visiting beautifully decorated pandals to pay their respects to the idols and offer prayers. This year’s celebrations have taken place in over 50 locations across Dimapur, with some pandals featuring traditional dance performances.
In light of these festivities, the Dimapur police force has implemented comprehensive security measures to safeguard worshippers and ensure a peaceful and incident-free celebration. Prior to the festivities, the Hindu Seva Samiti Dimapur issued strict guidelines, emphasizing the importance of respecting religious sentiments and maintaining harmony and peace during the puja. They have also provided specific instructions for the immersion of idols scheduled for tomorrow.
