Kohima, November 6, 2023: A Cyber Security Awareness Programme, organized by the Investment & Development Authority of Nagaland in collaboration with MMB Cyber School, took place at Bloom Bazaar in Kohima on Saturday. The event aimed to enlighten attendees about the various cybersecurity threats and challenges that often go underestimated by users.

Speakers Limasenla Moa and Vizotuo Sothu addressed common threats, including scams, online frauds, cyberbullying, online information sharing, and slow system behavior. They emphasized the importance of vigilance in the cyber world and discussed everyday practices that could make users susceptible to cyberattacks, such as information sharing, online transactions, and exposure to inappropriate content.

The speakers also raised awareness about the potential consequences of cyberbullying, which encompasses activities like “outing,” impersonation, stalking, and harassment. By providing insights into these risks and practical advice on how to protect oneself in the digital realm, the programme sought to empower participants with the knowledge to navigate the online world safely and securely.

This initiative reflects the growing need for cybersecurity education to ensure the safety and privacy of individuals in the digital age.
