Deputy Chief Minister Urges Unity and Forgiveness at Lotha Hoho’s Centennial Jubilee

Wokha, Nagaland – The Deputy Chief Minister of Nagaland, Y. Patton, delivered a powerful message of unity and harmony during the centennial jubilee celebration of Lotha Hoho in Wokha. In his address, he emphasized the vital role of fostering unity and forgiveness as a reflection of the jubilee spirit, extending his gratitude to both the pioneers and current leaders of Lotha Hoho for their selfless contributions to Lotha society.

Mr. Patton recognized the Lotha Hoho’s century-long role as a unifying force, commending it for not only celebrating a remarkable past but also envisioning a future filled with promise. He stressed the importance of those who are more fortunate assisting those in need, underlining that genuine wealth is measured by the ability to support others while still having plenty for oneself.

Moreover, Mr. Patton encouraged village leaders to take the lead in the preservation and conservation of wildlife for the benefit of future generations. He expressed his optimism that both the Hoho and the Lotha community would continue to thrive and play a leading role in the story of Nagaland.

Mhathung Yanthan, Advisor to Agriculture, attributed this significant milestone to the foresight, dedication, love, and unity displayed by Lothas over the past century. He recognized the celebration as a commemoration of a hundred years of hard work and community spirit.

MLA Y. Mhonbemo Humtsoe emphasized the importance of embracing criticism and making the jubilee a time for forgiveness. On a similar note, MLA Achumbemo Kikon highlighted the historical significance of Wokha for the Lotha people and the broader Naga society, calling on the community to look forward with vision and take the lead in the Naga society.

Dr. Chumben Murry, Advisor to the Chief Minister, called for unity among the members of Naga society and their ability to adapt to the rapidly changing world.

As part of the jubilee celebration, Deputy Chief Minister Y. Patton unveiled a Jubilee souvenir, marking this momentous occasion and further cementing Lotha Hoho’s centennial celebration as a significant event in Nagaland’s history.
