“382 Riflewomen Successfully Complete Training, Ready for Frontline Duties with Assam Rifles”

A total of 382 new female recruits (riflewomen) have successfully completed their 44-week training at the Assam Rifles Training Centre and School, ARTC & S, at Shokhuvi. They showcased their skills and synchronization during a special attestation parade, which was led by Major Swati Basedia. The parade was reviewed by Lieutenant General Kaiwalya Trivikram Parnaik (Retd), the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, in the presence of Lieutenant General Pradeep Chandran Nair, Director General of Assam Rifles, and other senior officers. Lieutenant General (Retd) Parnaik highlighted the Assam Rifles’ history and the significant roles played by Riflewomen since 2015, emphasizing their contributions in various regions, including the North East, Jammu and Kashmir, and United Nations missions. The presence of Riflewomen in frontline duties not only enhances local security but also contributes to the nation’s image. Medals were awarded to four riflewomen for their outstanding performance in various categories, and the newly passed out Riflewomen will now join their respective units in frontline duties.
