Aeterna, a vibrant 18-member choir under the leadership of founder James Swu, has been chosen to represent the Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) at the upcoming Asia Pacific Baptist Federation 50th Anniversary in Singapore. Scheduled for November 17th and 18th, the celebration will feature Aeterna as one of the two choirs representing India, alongside the Mizoram Baptist Choir.
Formed in the early part of 2021, Aeterna has become a dynamic force in promoting church choral music, blending traditional tunes with choral arrangements. The choir’s name, derived from the Latin word for eternal, reflects their commitment to creating enduring musical experiences.
Founder James Swu expressed the choir’s excitement for the opportunity and mentioned that Aeterna would perform in all seven services throughout the two-day celebration. A commissioning prayer service for NBBC choir Aeterna was recently held at City Church, Kohima, underscoring the significance of this musical representation on an international stage.
