Inter-Departmental Coordination Meeting Focuses on Road Safety Ahead of Hornbill Festival

On November 15, 2023, a crucial Inter-Departmental Coordination Meeting on Road Safety took place at the Mini Conference Hall, Police Headquarters, Kohima, Nagaland. The meeting was convened in anticipation of the upcoming Hornbill Festival and the influx of domestic and international tourists. Rupin Sharma, IPS DGP Nagaland, and Limasunep Jamir, IPS Commissioner of Police Dimapur, were among the prominent attendees, along with representatives from various departments, including the Commissioner of Nagaland, Transport Commissioner, and officials from DC Dimapur, Chumoukedima, Kohima, and NHIDCL.

Chaired by Sandeep M. Tamgadge, IPS ADGP (L&O), the meeting aimed to address various aspects of road safety, emphasizing the prevention of accidents and mishaps during the festive season, including Statehood Day celebrations and Hornbill Festival 2023. The focus was on enhancing inter-departmental coordination to ensure a safer environment for residents and visitors alike.

Special guest Smti D. Keretsü, Member of the National Road Safety Council, Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Government of India, provided valuable insights. The meeting, attended by 14 senior officers from different departments, served as a platform for collaborative efforts to optimize road safety measures in preparation for the upcoming festivities and the associated rise in traffic.
