Inauguration of NIAPA Mini Stadium at Chumoukedima Marks Milestone for Table Tennis in Northeast India

Northeast India Academy of Performing Arts (NIAPA) achieved a significant milestone with the inauguration of its exclusive mini stadium at NER Agri Expo, Chümoukedima. The NIAPA Mini Stadium, focused on Table Tennis, was inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister TR Zeliang in a ceremony held on Friday evening.

Congratulating NIAPA on this noteworthy achievement, Deputy Chief Minister TR Zeliang acknowledged the organization’s efforts in constructing the first exclusive Table Tennis Stadium and hosting the Annual North East Open Tournament. He highlighted the event as a testament to NIAPA’s commitment to fostering the sports culture in the state and the country at large.

Zeliang expressed optimism that the newly inaugurated stadium would provide a significant platform for young players in the state, offering them opportunities to train and enhance their talents to compete on a broader stage.

Coinciding with the inauguration, the third edition of the NIAPA NorthEast Open Table Tennis Tournament commenced. Themed “One Wing of a Nation, One Sport #Unity,” the tournament witnessed the participation of teams from Nagaland, Mizoram, Assam, and the Nagaland Senior Team. The four-day event features team events, including matches in singles for both men and women, doubles, and mixed categories.
