Deputy Chief Minister of Nagaland, T.R. Zeliang, has urged the adoption of scientific and sustainable agricultural practices to transform the region into a significant producer and exporter of agricultural products. Speaking at the Central Agriculture University Regional Agri Fair 2023 in Chumoukedima district, Zeliang highlighted the special attention the Central Government is providing to the Northeast, presenting an opportunity to harness the vast and fertile agricultural land in the region. He emphasized the potential for substantial growth in the agri and allied sectors with proper guidance from scientists and innovative ideas. Encouraging students to envision careers beyond conventional paths, Zeliang urged them to become agri-preneurs, fostering self-sufficiency and self-reliance. The Deputy Chief Minister also called upon farmers to embrace best practices to ensure that lands and farms become sources of income rather than liabilities.
