During the 75th Anniversary celebration of the United Sangtam Students Conference (USSC) at Longkhim town’s public ground, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio highlighted the importance of re-dedicating oneself to the values of brotherhood, unity, and peaceful co-existence

Rio urged for the transformation of the Naga community, evolving from brave warriors and headhunters to peace warriors guided by Christian principles. Acknowledging the role of pioneers and present leaders, he emphasized their vision that education is the key to a brighter future.

Recognizing the sacrifices made to establish USSC and the Sangtam tribe’s significant contributions in the ENPO area, the Chief Minister urged students to pursue quality education, emphasizing the importance of discipline and hard work in achieving personal goals.

Rio also addressed the state’s literacy rate, surpassing the national average at 80%, with Mon district in the ENPO area having the lowest percentage. He pledged efforts to elevate Tuensang district and bring Mon district in line with state-level standards across various sectors.

Highlighting the need for collective responsibility, Rio called upon tribal hohos, village councils, leaders, and student leaders to actively contribute to improving educational outcomes. As part of the celebration, the Chief Minister unveiled a Monolith and raised the USSC flag.

The event served as a platform to celebrate achievements, reflect on the journey, and reinforce the commitment to fostering education and unity within the Sangtam community and beyond.
