Advisor Imkong L Imchen Stresses Collective Responsibility for Naga Integration

Advisor for Information and Public Relations and Soil & Water Conservation, Imkong L Imchen, emphasized that the responsibility for Naga integration is not solely on Nagas from Nagaland. During an interaction with the press at the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra programme in Khensa village, Imchen noted that if the demand for integration is widespread, involving all Naga areas, then it becomes a necessity. However, he questioned the one-sided dialogue when people from other areas do not share the same concern. Regarding the cessation of the Free Movement Regime (FMR) along the Indo-Myanmar border, Imchen expressed support for the decision, citing the need for clear boundaries for a sovereign nation. He highlighted the persistent issue of drug trafficking through the porous border, posing a significant threat to Naga society and the Northeast insurgency problem. Imchen also acknowledged Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to developing India into a developed economy by 2047 through innovative centrally sponsored programs.”
