Wokha District Football Association Suspends Two Range Sports Associations for One Year

28th January 2024: In response to the recent chaos during a match between Englan Range Sports Association and Nyiro Range Sports Association at the 13th Lotha Football Championship in Wokha, the Wokha District Football Association has taken strict action. Both Englan Range Sports Association and Nyiro Range Sports Association have been suspended for a period of one year.

The decision to suspend the two sports associations was announced yesterday following the disturbance that occurred on the football field. The chaos ensued when the crowd invaded the field while the match was still in progress, resulting in stone pelting and violence between the two groups.

The Wokha District Football Association emphasized that the violence was instigated by the crowd and is not reflective of the association’s management or credibility. The suspension serves as a disciplinary measure to address the breach of peace and order during the championship event.

The association remains committed to upholding the spirit of sportsmanship and ensuring the safety and integrity of football matches in the district.
