Government Collects 602 Crore Rupees in Fees from PAN-Aadhaar Non-Linkage

February 5, 2024: The Centre announced today that it has amassed a total of 602 crore rupees in fees from individuals who have not linked their PAN with Aadhaar from July 1, 2023, to January 31, 2024.

In a written response in the Lok Sabha, Pankaj Chaudhary, Minister of State for Finance, disclosed that as of January 29th, the number of PANs not linked with Aadhaar, excluding exempted categories, stands at 11.48 crore.

This revelation underscores the government’s ongoing efforts to encourage the linkage of PAN with Aadhaar, a move aimed at enhancing financial transparency and compliance.
