Nagaland Olympic Association Joins Hands with Sports For All to Bolster State’s Sporting Landscape

Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) and Sports For All (SFA) have forged a strategic alliance aimed at fortifying the grassroots sports ecosystem within the state. This collaboration seeks to provide a platform for budding school athletes in Nagaland to exhibit their sporting prowess. The announcement of this partnership was made on February 5th, in the esteemed presence of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton, Advisor to CM and Chairman IDAN Abu Metha, and Assistant Secretary General of NOA, Neivikuolie Khatsu.

Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio expressed the government’s commitment to fostering enduring change in the state through sports initiatives. He emphasized the importance of cultivating a sports culture in schools, reinforcing it at the collegiate level, and establishing a robust support system for women athletes and coaches. These efforts, he asserted, position Nagaland as a formidable contender to host the National Games.

Addressing the collaboration, Rishikesh Joshi, Founder of SFA, underscored Nagaland’s remarkable progress in sporting infrastructure and the emergence of talented athletes. He pledged SFA’s support in furthering the state’s sporting ecosystem and contributing to the nation’s sports landscape. Having made significant strides in nine cities within a span of three months, SFA Championships is poised to debut in the Northeast, recognizing the region’s burgeoning sporting potential.

The partnership between NOA and SFA signifies a pivotal step towards nurturing athletic talent and fostering a vibrant sports culture in Nagaland. Through concerted efforts and collaborative initiatives, the state aims to carve a distinguished niche in the realm of Indian sports.
