AIDA & St. Xavier College Jalukie Illuminate 200 Rural Homes with Solar Lighting Systems

On February 8th, 2024, the ANMA Integrated Development Association (AIDA), in partnership with St. Xavier College in Jalukie, Peren, extended the gift of solar home lighting systems to 200 rural households. Vineet Kumar, the Deputy Commissioner of Peren, graced the event, emphasizing the transformative impact such amenities would have on rural life. He urged attendees to actively engage in social initiatives, fostering positive change within their communities.

Fr. Roy George, Executive Director of AIDA, highlighted the significance of this initiative, marking the inaugural phase of solar lighting system distribution in Nagaland’s rural areas. He announced plans to expand the program, with an additional 800 solar systems slated for installation in the near future.

During the distribution ceremony, households from Nsong village, Old Ngaulong village, Beisumpuiloa village, and Lalong village were among the recipients of the solar lighting systems, promising brighter and more sustainable futures for these rural communities.
