The protest has seen the locking down of the Deputy Commissioner’s office, closure of the Sub-Divisional Officer (National Highway) Wokha office, and a complete halt on vehicular movement and commercial activities throughout the district.
With authorities yet to respond to their demands, the CSOs have resolved to extend the total lockdown until further notice. Earlier today, a significant gathering assembled at Police Point Wokha to express solidarity with the ongoing protest and to urge the government to expedite an amicable solution.
