Assam Rifles Neutralizes NSCN(K-Rebel) Cadre, Apprehends Another in Mon District Operation

On March 5, 2024, the Assam Rifles conducted a successful operation in Mon district, resulting in the neutralization of one cadre of the NSCN(K-Rebel) faction and the apprehension of another. Acting on specific intelligence regarding the movement of insurgents for abduction and extortion in the general area of Sangsa village, the Assam Rifles launched the operation on the intervening night of March 3 and 4.

According to the PRO & Spokesperson Defence for Manipur, Nagaland, and Southern Arunachal Pradesh, upon intercepting the insurgents, the Assam Rifles troops encountered gunfire from the militants, prompting the troops to retaliate. In the ensuing firefight, one insurgent was killed, and another was successfully apprehended.

During the operation, the Assam Rifles recovered significant weaponry and ammunition, including one automatic rifle, one automatic pistol, grenades, and other warlike stores.

The operation demonstrates the commitment of the security forces to maintaining peace and stability in the region and combating insurgent activities. The successful outcome reflects the dedication and valor of the Assam Rifles in safeguarding the security and well-being of the people.
