Nagaland State Cabinet Takes Firm Action to Curb Illegal Activities

The Nagaland State cabinet has taken decisive action to address the issue of illegal activities, particularly in Dimapur, following the indefinite shutter down called by the Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI). In a meeting held recently, the cabinet directed the Director General of Police and Commissioner of Nagaland to notify various Naga political groups through the CFMG/CFSB about the crackdown on activities such as extortion and kidnapping. Culprits will face legal consequences under the National Security Act (NSA) and may be detained outside the state. Additionally, the cabinet has instructed the DGP to deploy additional forces to Dimapur to tackle these illegal activities effectively.

Furthermore, the government has allocated extra resources to law enforcement agencies for enhanced mobility and the operationalization of CCTV cameras. The State Police Department has urged all Naga political groups to adhere strictly to Ceasefire Ground Rules and ensure that their cadres remain within designated camps and supervisory offices.
