The Multiplex Association of India (MAI) has announced a special initiative to celebrate Cinema Lovers Day on May 31, offering movie tickets at just Rs 99 across theatres in India.
“Mark your calendars for Friday, May 31, as The Multiplex Association of India (MAI) and cinemas all over India unite once again to bring you Cinema Lovers Day. This exciting day promises an unforgettable movie marathon to all movie enthusiasts for just Rs 99 per admission,” MAI said in a statement.
Both multiplexes and single screens are participating in the initiative, including 4,000 screens from renowned cinema chains like PVR Inox, Cinepolis India, Miraj Cinemas, Mukta A2, Movie Time, MovieMax, Wave, M2K, Delite, and many others.
This initiative comes after a sluggish first quarter for the film industry in India, where both Hindi and other language films struggled to attract audiences to theatres.
