June 8th, 2024: Last night, unidentified armed miscreants shot dead Gaon Bura Abdul Kayum Talukdar of New Market, Dimapur. The incident occurred at around 9:00 PM near Axis Bank in the Signal evening bazaar. According to a member of the Muslim Council Dimapur, the victim was shot in the chest at close range.
The two armed assailants reportedly fled in a car. Talukdar was immediately rushed to Faith Hospital but was declared brought dead on arrival. The New Market Business Welfare Committee has condemned the murder and urged authorities to conduct a thorough investigation to ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice without delay.
