11th June 2024: Today is the last date for filing nominations for ULB elections to three Municipal Councils and 36 Town Councils in the state. The filing of nominations will close at 3:00 PM this evening. As of yesterday, a total of 394 individuals have filed their nominations, including 144 women candidates. According to the State Election Commission, no nominations have been filed from any of the 14 town councils in the six eastern districts.
So far, 142 candidates from NDPP, 39 BJP candidates, 26 Congress candidates, 18 NPP candidates, 14 NPF candidates, 5 NCP candidates, 9 JD(U) candidates, 5 LJP candidates, 1 RPI(A) candidate, and 135 independent candidates have filed their nominations.
