Dimapur Businesses to Shut Down Indefinitely from April 26

Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) has taken a decisive stance against the ongoing harassment faced by the business community from Naga political groups. In response to these challenges, DCCI has announced an indefinite shutter down of all business establishments in Dimapur starting from April 26.

The decision to shut down businesses indefinitely stems from the persistent issues of multiple taxations, intimidations, and summon letters received by business owners from various Naga political groups. DCCI emphasized that the shutter down will remain in effect until the grievances of the business community are adequately addressed.

The chamber has called upon the state government and law enforcement agencies to swiftly intervene and ensure the safety and protection of the business community. Additionally, DCCI has urged the public to understand the necessity of this action and to extend their cooperation for the collective welfare of all citizens.

In light of the proposed shutter down, DCCI has advised the business community to refrain from responding to any calls or summons from Naga political groups without prior consultation with the chamber. It’s important to note that DCCI’s stance is not against any particular group or faction but rather against the unjust practices of multiple taxations and extortion faced by businesses.

The upcoming indefinite shutter down sends a clear message to authorities about the urgent need for resolution and action on these pressing issues affecting the business community in Dimapur.
