Prime Minister Modi’s Vision: Indian Space Station by 2035, Moon Landing by 2040

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set forth an ambitious vision for India’s space exploration, directing efforts to establish the Bharatiya Antariksha Station (Indian Space Station) by 2035 and send the first Indian astronaut to the Moon by 2040. To translate this vision into reality, the Department of Space is tasked with creating a comprehensive roadmap for lunar exploration, which includes a series of Chandrayaan missions, the development of a Next Generation Launch Vehicle, the construction of a new launch pad, and the establishment of human-centric laboratories and associated technologies.

In a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Modi, the progress of India’s Gaganyaan Mission was assessed, and plans for the future of India’s space exploration were discussed. Additionally, the Prime Minister urged Indian scientists to work towards interplanetary missions, which would encompass missions like a Venus Orbiter Mission and a Mars Lander.

This bold vision underlines India’s commitment to advancing its space program and exploring the possibilities beyond Earth’s boundaries.
